Construction Blog - Second day of Editing

On the second day of editing we continued where we left off except we made some slight changes to the  opening scene by adding some different shots in to improve the flow and look of the video. We are still keeping to the script and following the narrative story we have chosen to take.

On the scenes we edited some of them to be slowed down so they look more cinematic and express the opening to the music video better, we also used a fade from black to help introduce the opening to the video along with the artist information in text.

We cut and edited the clips to correspond with the flow of the music track so it doesn't look out of place and suits the narrative the song is portraying. We also used sped up a clip of the sky so it shows the progression into the night, as our video starts mid-day and then progresses to night. When it came to a certain part of the song we forgot to record one clip so we had to leave this blank for the time being until the third day of filming.

As before we had to unlink the video clips so they didn't contain audio from when we recorded otherwise it might have made the song unclear when people are listening as there would be background noise from wind, cars, talking etc. We left the audio levels and settings in there original state to the artists choice.

We used as before many fragmented shots and show us using double time where the footage will be layered over each other but translucent so two things can be scene at once on screen. This will help outline technique.

On the third day of filming we plan to film our green screen section of the song, where the background will be the time lapse. Providing that it maintains its professional look. However if the clip doesn't look right it doesn't affect us as it is optional on our script. We would however like to use it to outline our skill in editing and making a professional looking music video.
