Construction Blog - Third Day of Filming

On the third day of filming, we recorded the clips we needed for the green screen as well as the lip syncing shots for Sophie and John which will be processed and selected when it comes to editing to see whether they are suitable for the music video. We continued to film within the same environment (Park) for the lip sync however. the video is progressing towards the train station where the song and narrative will end.

Before filming, we made sure that we had the appropriate clothes so we continued to keep the continuity with the mise-en-scene. The setting was roughly the same as the previous days as we always made sure the ground was dry and the sky was fairly clear, this was in order for the audience not to notice any sudden changes e.g light scene to sudden, dark scene.

We also recorded the green screen section of our video. Here is where we recorded John lip syncing the whole song this meant that we were able to pick and choose the best parts for the editing. We did this as it gives us a choice for the green screen clips we needed to use. This will benefit us in editing as we can choose what we want to be lip synced.

We also recorded clips of Sophie and John lip syncing separately to help split up the narrative showing different places. We also recorded them together looking at each other saying a line of the verse each. We also recorded Johns phone so that the text is the same as the lyrics in the song. We first recorded the first part of the lip sync in the day (the phone text shot & John's day shot). We then shot some clips when it was dark of Sophie and John's lip sync.

Once the filming was done we were ready to pack up our stuff and continue to film another day as it had become to dark to film and our potential time to finish the narrative is at dark twilight. This is because we are filming the video outside it meant we are short on light and we want the video to be clear and easy to view.
