Construction Blog - Second Day of Filming

On the second day of filming, we picked off where we left off from the first day. We had filmed a fair amount of footage that we will be adding to our ongoing media project on premiere. When we edit we hope to have a fair amount the the footage done and lead us further into completing the video.

The organization of the day went rather well as we had planned the day for recording in advance e.g. we accounted for the weather which was roughly the same as our first day of filming we found this to be a convenience. Otherwise, there might have been a continuity error with the weather when changing scenes.

I had made a checklist of scenes and events that needed to happen I made sure that we followed this and didn’t miss anything out. We also followed the plan in a linear way(Start to finish). We also made use of props this day using photos and a beer can these show and explain the narrative. The photo was of the two characters while they were together to outline their current situation of being separated; we also used the beer can to outline how the male character is getting over the ex-girlfriend. This was done through the use of a series of close-ups and extreme close-ups.

However, some things that didn’t go well was the wind as it made everyone cold so we couldn’t show we were cold fortunately it didn’t affect the acting skills. The shots we used on this day again consisted of close up, extreme close up and medium shots and over the shoulder shots. We used the close up for the beer can opening and the sipping of the drink. The extreme close up to enhance the beer can being drunk and opened we also made use of this on the photo prop which shows our two main characters when they were still together.

We also used a can of beer as a prop and we used a medium, close-up and extreme close-up to help explain the  narrative of John getting drunk to get over his ex-girlfriend. We also have some shots of the two main characters by themselves. using low angle shots etc.

We had to also keep in time the sunlight so that the video gradually got darker so all the shots had to be shot accordingly so that there weren't no continuity errors with the weather. We plan on the third day of filming to have the rest of the narrative shots and clips filmed and to have most of the lip-syncing shots to the video finished. We will continue to do this until the video is finished.
